April Showers Bring May Flowers

As the saying goes: this month is poo. Ahaha. It does mean May will bring happier days, though. Choose your attidude... no "here's hoping," - just need to have a jawwwsome May. Talking to a few of my friends it has been one rough month. Let's take a closer look at the most absurd series of circumstances for ONE individual to experience...

The case of the Guerita.

In the course of one week, she has...
  • VOMITED repeatedly from the flu
  • had some pretty "shitty" DIARRHEA (:
  • had massive cramps and is BLEEDING as a punishment for carrying the human race forward.....
  • her FACE IS FALLING OFF from a sunburn
  • she is moving from her home of 12 months to a new COUNTRY
  • meanwhile quite possible ending a wonderful relationship,
  • and yes... of course... someone did actually die.
April showers is an understatement - more like TORENTIAL DOWNPOUR or MONSOON.

On a lighter note, this friend of mine, and this is why I love her, is managing to stay light-hearted and happy in the midst of the craziness, given her recent discovery that Rush Limbaugh was arrested on prescription fraud charges. The real question is, if you don't like Rush... is it simply a matter of partisanship or just that some individuals are... unsettling???

Misc: Happiness is a spanish version of the national anthem. (: So pretty. Unlike the black national anthem, I am ALLL over this one, aka I know it exists this time and won't make an ASS of myself ever again with my ignorance. Wait, no, I probably will... but just not in regards to the black national anthem. Phew.

Disjointed... Random... Day...

Picture is random. I just thought it was sexy. From two weekends ago when we went to a computer store and took pictures of ourselves... before going to a park and taking MORE pictures of ourselves... yes, you are looking at THE most vain folks on our vain team. :) Our team song? Yooooooouuuuuuurrr soooo vain! I BET YOU THINK THIS SONG IS ABOUT YOU!!

Today has been left right and center. Woot for steering team app complete. My brain is fried... since MCP application, two friends have been going through application processes and I'm psychotic and feel like I'm living it with them a bit and then there was this... But the good news about this application is that AT LEAST I didn't need to get it translated into French. :) Woot woot. Brain fried from spending too much time on lap top working this weekend. Need slap on wrist. Disciplined centered sma was on leave this weekend. Eep.

LEARNING OF THE DAY from Aine Aine bo Baine: Ireland likes euphemisms. Apparently, during WWII, the media, and all the Irish referred to the war as "THE EMERGENCY." AHAHAHA. What the hell. I heart you Aine. :) Wearing green today, like usual... represent. Haha, called Colleen yesterday and asked, "So how Irish are you?" Of course - was already wearing some Ireland jacket.

OUT OF THE LOOP. Was at coffeeshop this afternoon working, and some person ran up to another person sitting a meter in front of me (note sma's usage of METER rather than YARD!!) and asked for her autograph. WHY? I don't know. WHY? Because I'm out of the loop and don't watch tv. Apparently while shopping in London with Harman some model/actress from OC was walked into the store (and was photographed) as we were stepping in. Good thing I don't even know what the OC is... the only OC I know organize CONFERENCES. I'm so hip it hurts.

SUCH a proud auntie :)

(:

Jen just called and left a message that she was singing "down by the bay" with him and it made her think of me since I sang that NON-STOP as a kid. AHAHAHHAHA. Happiness = kids. :)

The other day was talking random old friend I met at NaLDS in Goettingen - Radek. We haven't spoken for like... 2 years really, since that one week we met... and we sent each other pictures of our new nephew/nieces over MSN. HOW GEEKY IS THAT!?!?!?

I like being an auntie. :)

You know its > < excellant day when...

Okay so in the MC office the bathroom is down the hall... when its a day that is AWESOME, I straight-up-no-chaser RUN down the hall to the bathroom JUST so I can get back to my desk and do more work. As I sang to Emo (Bulgaria) today on MSN: I'm a super geek, super geek, I'm super geeeeeky yeah. :)

The whole office is insane. I won't go into the suggestions that people had for session names for NLDC but let's just say... we would be SO judged... and some of the suggestions may or may not have included the word POO. Ahem...

The hyperness and energy and excitement could have to do with the fact that Adrian surprised us with a visit (WOOOOOT WOOOOOT for former Canadian rockstar MCPs!!!) and brought us a shit ton of chocolate (see above). Yes... sugar high is an understatement. Mooohooohaahhahahahahah.

So much goodness today. Also ahaha - went to Starbucks and had overdrafted my debit card so I had to look like a boob and have the dreaded words pop up: INSUFFICIENT FUNDS. But the cute coffee dude who I see EVERY WEEK said "'why don't you just pay next time?" PHEEWWW. Oh and I had an AMAZING meeting with my official efficiency coach. (: WHAT?!?! Someone with the job of making me...>gasp<>

Oh fun fun. Last note: The team rolled 8 deep yesterday to a BOAT PARTY. Sexy ISX hosted it. Purr. Woah, before you go thinking that it was posh... think again. It was UNPOSH. Yeah, I was SO overdressed. Anyways, it was fun nevertheless.

Exibit A: Gorgeous view frow the boat with silhouette of Tai Tai. (:

Exibit B: The dance floor. This is Dennis and I scaring the team... moohoohaahaha. Good times.

HBizzle & S.Ma's Tour de Quebec

Purr. Just got back from such a relaxing weekend. Aside from writing a quick endorsement for a super star friend, I was disconnected for almost 4 full days... wow wow. Feels great to be sane. (:

Thursday night took the train to Quebec. Packed in about 15 minutes. Did absolutely nothing on the train... was divine. No computer. Just music. WEEE! Got to Montreal and Helene and I went straight away to the Quebec version of Mitfahrergelegenheit -- "Hallo Stop" -- woot for carpooling between cities in Quebec. Did shopping straight away... ended up going to see "She's the Man" - probably one of the most mindnumbing films I've seen in a long time. BUT - our expectations were SO low that it was hilarious. AHAHHAHAH. (:

Friday = sleep + sugar shack!! Took Gravol in the morning on the car ride to Quebec City and ended up sleeping til 4:00pm, even after getting there. Aiyoooooo.

Quebec City is gorgeous. Really felt like I was in Europe actually... and and and! I got to see the hotel that caused the AIESEC Canada IC financial crisis! :) Yay history.

This is my at my very first SUGAR SHACK.

'Twas WICKED AWESOME. Such yum food, cute folk music, quaint/wholesome atmosphere - I felt so far away from my normal city life. What a meal... meat pie, potatoes, eggs (and maple syrup), ham (and maple syrup), pancakes (and maple syrup), and... desert? Maple syrup on a stick. (:

Saturday HBizzle and I were supposed to head off to a gorgeous spot an hour away too enjoy the scenery but 'twas mad rainy so we just blew a LOT of money shopping. I was introduced to the evil drug that is Simons - Quebec department store where everything is cheap, fits perfectly, and super pretty. Hisssss. Fast paced spending... all-consuming consumption...

After a stopover at Tutto Gelato (purrrrrrrrrr) we headed to Liliana's house - LCP Laval 2004/2005. I got to meet almost all of HBizzle's Exec Team! Wow, I thought my ExecBoard at Michigan was multi-culti... I was clearly mistaken. Altogether, just the folks I met, were from Madagascar, Colombia, Ivory Coast, Quebec (1), and of course, Ethiopia/Rwanda/Italy. Its like woah. Just chilled for a while before heading out for my FIRST REAL POUTINE! DELISH! Yes, you can only find good/real poutine in Quebec... french fries, gravy, and cheese curds... so good... soooooo goooooood. They say that its only great poutine if the cheese squeeks. No kidding - this cheese REALLY SQUEEKED. Was actually really distracting... I wanted everyone/thing to shutup just so I could listen to the realllly loud squeeking with no distractions. Word to the wise: it is realllly cool to plug your ears while eating poutine - louder squeeking cheese sensations. (:

Of course, after all the sugar shack and poutine and gelato, we had to dance off some fat. :) Went out to a salsa club, where, holy crap - Shirley was actually one of the only folks in her crew who could salsa/merenge/bachatha... Oh PimpPad - you would have been a) SHOCKED and b) SO PROUD. :) Rolled into another club, hip hopped it out a bit before hitting the hay.
[Picture at top = HB + I trying desperately to look pretty after the MAD COW eating action of poutine, crepes, and sugar shack... aiyooooooo.]

Today we just head back to Montreal, caught up with Kanwal over chocolat chaud and hopped on our train with about 2 minutes to spare. Brilliant. ;p Literally had to RUN on to the train. Then HBizzle and I Sodoku'd for FIVE HOURS STRAIGHT. Today was my virgin sodoku and now I'm addicted. Its a wonder I'm blogging instead of sodoku-ing really.

All and all - was a wicked trip. Excessive eating, shopping, and sleeping... who could ask for anything more? Oh, and I can actually speak some french without sounding like a TOTAL boob. YES. Learned a new phrase each day of the trip, which, yes, only amounts to 4 whopping phrases (would type them but I haven't gotten to the spelling phase of my french lessons yet), but they're actually useful and I used them lots. YES YES YES!!! :) Bring it on, French [language]!

What's more: found out the news about Colleen while this weekend. Life is good. AIESEC Michigan's world domination continues... in 2 years, we got: 2 AIESEC US MC/P (Car/Sketvirt), 1 Canadian RVP/MCP (sma), 1 CAS/Panamanian RVP (SJB), 1 MC UAE/MCP Bahrain (Hensel), and now...1 MC VP OGX Ireland! Looks like we're just missing CEE and AP, eh? Go Blue.
