Welcome to Rotterdam, Jean-Nicolas!

Today Jean-Nic has arrived in Rotterdam! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! GOOD STUFFS! Was so so so good to see him, both to catch up about his last month on MC Canada and to hear how the team is doing, and also to start our visioning for AP GN together. Over coffee, we started putting together his objectives for this week in Rotterdam... purpose statement? TO KICK START HIS ROCKSTAR AP GN ER TERM! :) (MC06/07: we actually called it his purpoise statement. :) ) He's just about to meet with Ryan for some AP GN 101 for the rest of the afternoon. :) I also had a skype with Sharon - beautiful brilliant incoming AP GN chair! Now I'm just craving Rina communication! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

First Weekend: Hitting up the Haag

Rockkkkkkk. First Sunday in RTM was beautious. We slept in til noon after a late night of mad team bondage. :) Just chillaxing on the beach is random small groups, before gathering for dinner and... to be honest, I feel a little weird sharing tooooo much about all the fun... I don't want to spoil the surprise, eh? ;p Long story short, was wicked pissa' to head off to den Haag, only 20 minutes and 7 Euros away! Beautiful beach, great cafes, and cool to be travelling as a team and "setting the early habit" of getting out of RTM every so often. Appreciating the subtle happy moments, like seeing my new Konrad have his first plate of nachos ever, seeing the Dutch waiters FREAKOUT when we say we have a party of 20, watching who sits in the shade and who sits in the sun... :)

Day One in Rotterdam

Wow... three weeks ago. I will stand by my theory that there is FOR SURE some time-warp-bullshit here in Rotterdam where time passes faster than the rest of the world. Anyways... mine as well start with the beginning... I arrived here from a 6pm flight in Canada at 7:00am... so you imagine how POO I felt in this new office with my beaming new team with my jet lag. I wanted to crawl into a hole but alas, no holes to be found. Instead, after a cool day of learning about the beauty of the new team and learning about Jarda's all brilliant transition plan for us... we went on a scavenger hunt in Rotterdam! HURRRAH!!! Not going to lie, wasn't expecting much, and as it turns out... Rotterdam is pretty.
Exhibit A: This is my Discover Rotterdam team! HOT STUFF EH!?

Exhibit B: Me getting the answer for our first clue from a Dutchie. :) Note how helpful my bloody team is... AHHAHAHAHA.

Its a bit of a pickle...

... figuring out how to start in sharing and reflecting on an experience where it seems EVERY MOMENT is noteworthy. So much has happened in the last 3 weeks in Rotterdam. SHIT YA'LL.

I figure whatever I write... I should just... write. The 06/07 AI team's most consistent advice was SET HEALTHY HABITS DURING THE FIRST WEEKS OF TRANSITION. So far I've been pretty happy with my discipline and healthy habit forming... working out 3 times a week, eating lunch in 4/5 times a week, going out with team at least once each weekend, going to 2 team dinners a week on average, sending an update to my family at least once a week... its good stuffs. Alas, the one "habit gap" lies in the blogosphere... Need to get into a regular habit up blogging for myself, for my family, and for sure for my region! :) From all my discussions with MCPs so far, communication is key... and not just work related comm!!

So I think I'll just start off with non-threating "shorts" about random stuff... mind is not ready to the more self-transformative reflections... ;p Let the shorts begin. :)
